Artist's Comments

Not quite my usual stuff - but something I started ages ago and couldn't figure out how to finish quite right. Mostly the problem was finding some way of mounting the watch face. You can't really see in the photo how it was done - but it looks really great.

The skull surrounded by roses was once a different piece of jewelry. I wanted something a bit Goth and a bit steampunk. Any one of my goth friends would be happy with this I think.

The skull is set against a delicate vintage watch face that has a slight pink hue. The colour is very unusual. The numbers have a light bronze tone.

The main pendant hangs down from an old pocket watch gear.

This piece is full of meaning: the watch face and the large gear remind us that time is part of our lives. Two small hands - one straight and smaller crooked - dangle below, moving as you move. And then the skull, of course - death - surrounded though by roses, represent the delicate beauty of life.

This pendant is a perfect combination of Gothic jewelry and steampunk jewelry.

The chain is a plain, dark metal with double links.

I've got it posted on etsy now on [link]

I have a skull collection this would make a nice addition to.

now why did I suddenly imagine you were a Predator? hmm?
Petting shiny, buffed skulls that sit on your mantle. mwhahaha.
oh i have some odd stuff in my head.

somewhere I have another one that was a match to this one - I was thinking of working it on a different kind of face... maybe a dark face? similar idea now that I've figured out the backing. I like my "backs" to look as good as the fronts :D

you ever get those kind of projects... you have to wait to figure out what is just quite right to finish it up?

An interesting imagining. Yet all my skulls are artificial.

And there is always something to be said for the whole-istic approach. Or else you're left with nothing but pretty facades.
